  • Present Progress, Future Success

There may be many things you wish to accomplish in life, yet these aspirations can seem unattainable in your current situation.

For instance, I would love to have a couple of kids, but it’s hard to even imagine while caring for my newborn baby. My focus is on her growth and development and the next right move.

However, just because your big goals appear unappealing or unattainable now, doesn’t mean they won’t happen in the future. It’s easy to become so fixated on the big picture that you overlook the smaller goals and tasks right in front of you.

Appreciate where you are in life at present and concentrate on what needs doing now. This will make your larger goals more achievable and reduce your stress level.

  • Embrace Life’s Imperfections

Not everything has to go your way or perfectly as planned. There may be days when small inconveniences, such as forgetting your wallet at home, or big inconveniences, such as losing your job, happen. Either way, it’s okay.

Life goes on, and you’ll realize that the problem you have isn’t all that big in the grand scheme of things.

And when you think about it, most of the fun and eventful moments come from when things don’t go as planned. Embrace them and keep moving forward.

  • Keeping It Positive

Yesterday, while I was driving, someone cut me off. At first, I had the urge to retaliate, but it only lasted for a second.

Afterwards, I didn’t care anymore. I was having a good day and I chose to continue to have one.

I realized that I shouldn’t let someone else’s actions dictate my feelings. It’s important not to make a big deal out of the little things and just keep moving forward in life.

  • Conducive Environments

Sometimes, even with the right mindset and ideas, one’s environment can hinder them from achieving their goals.

Currently, I am trying to establish a routine of sleeping earlier than usual. While I may have good intentions, I sometimes find it difficult to fall asleep at my desired time due to my environment. Therefore, I am working on creating a conducive sleeping environment for myself. This means avoiding the use of electronics before sleeping, ensuring that the room is quiet and dark, and engaging in relaxing activities before bedtime, such as reading or praying.

Similarly, the same concept applies to all aspects of life. Even with big aspirations and goals, an unsupportive environment can prevent their realization. Although one may not always have control over their environment, they can control their actions and intentions.

For instance, growing up, I faced numerous distractions and negative influences in the environment I lived in. However, I was able to make intentional choices and surround myself with positive people, which ultimately helped me change my environment.

It is important to ensure that one’s environment is conducive to their goals and aspirations. If you find it hard to reach your goals and aspirations, maybe a change of environment will help.

  • Teaming Up for Success

Being self-driven is often essential when striving to accomplish many things in your life. However, it is not always the most efficient approach.

At times, it is necessary to surround oneself with motivated individuals who will provide accountability and support in achieving goals. Often, people have the right vision but lack the necessary tools to bring it to fruition.

Creating a supportive team of like-minded individuals can help fill the gaps. Conversely, being surrounded by the wrong people can hinder progress.

Seek out individuals who will motivate and take the journey with you. Additionally, make it an effort to support others in reaching their goals.

  • Self-Sufficiency: The Secret to Success

Having an assistant can definitely make life easier. It can help with time management, organization, productivity, and many other things.

However, having an assistant requires being established, productive, and having financial resources. Therefore, it may not be an option for everyone.

The good news is that personal assistants can be replaced by practicing good time management, organization, and productivity. These practices can bring relief and structure to our lives, just like having an assistant would.

We have to assist ourselves to the fullest before anyone else does. If our lives are a little out of whack right now, or not quite as organized as we’d like, we should think about how having an assistant would help, and do all of the things an assistant would do.

It’s important to remember that true personal growth and success comes from the ability to be self-sufficient. While having an assistant can be helpful, it is important to first establish a foundation of productivity and organization within ourselves. By taking responsibility for our own lives and being proactive in our approach to success, we can achieve the same benefits as having an assistant and more.

  • Nice Guys Finish First

There’s the commonly used proverb that says “nice guys finish last”. The phrase means that sometimes people who are too nice can be taken advantage of by others who are not as nice and that may cause them to lose in a competition. Though I find some truth to that statement, I don’t quite agree with it.

I believe that nice guys finish, period. It may look as if the nice guys are on pace to finish last, but the thing is, the “not nice” guys do not finish at all. There may be times when they are ahead of you, but if you continue to be nice, you’ll see that you’ll keep progressing when the not nice guys eventually come to an end, because of their own bad characteristics.

Having good character and morals will always win in the end. It is important to balance kindness and assertiveness to be successful and achieve one’s goals.

Being kind and considerate does not necessarily mean that one will always finish last. And even if you do finish last, I can guarantee you that everyone who finished in front of you was nice also. Embrace being the nice guy (or girl) and know that it will be very beneficial for you when the race is all said and done.

  • Consistency for Optimal Living

It is easier to maintain good habits than to try to restart them after falling off the wagon. While some daily tasks may seem tedious or difficult, they are important and their significance may only become apparent after stopping them.

For me, regular exercise, healthy eating, making the bed, tidying up, daily reading and prayer are a few beneficial activities that help me achieve the lifestyle I desire. Taking a long break from them can make it tough to resume them. Therefore, it is important to keep doing them consistently.

Similarly, there may be daily activities that are not beneficial to us and should be replaced with positive ones. Additionally, there may be tasks that we currently do not do, but which can greatly benefit us.

It is important to identify these tasks and incorporate them into our daily routine. By doing so, we will see the results of our efforts and achieve our desired outcomes. Trust the process and commit to doing these daily tasks.

  • Expand Your Dreams: Reach Beyond

As a kid, I dreamed of playing in the NFL, like most kids do. It always seemed achievable, but statistics suggest otherwise. Making it to the NFL is a very difficult task. Only 1.6% of college players make it, and some people don’t even make it to college.

I say all this to say that I did it. I would be lying if I said it was hard to do. Don’t get me wrong, it takes a lot of hard work and dedication, but that goes for anything you want in life. I just had to make the right choices. Making it to the NFL was very eye-opening. I realized that it is possible to achieve your wildest dreams, and I also learned that a lot of times we do not dream big enough.

If I can make it to the NFL against all odds, what else can I do? I have to think even bigger because I know it’s possible. You may have a big goal or dream that you feel is hard to reach, but believe me when I tell you that you’re closer to that goal than you think, and it’s easier to achieve than you think.

So, whatever your biggest dream is, think even bigger. You’re more than capable of reaching it.

  • Balancing Advice and Authenticity in Life

There is a delicate balance between taking the advice and guidance of others and forging your own path.

In certain aspects of life, there will always be individuals with more experience than you who can offer assistance. However, this does not necessarily mean that they possess all the answers.

Although I may desire the best for someone and offer my counsel, it is ultimately up to them whether or not they choose to heed it. I am content with this outcome. It is crucial to listen to others, while also embracing your own unique qualities and devising your approach to a situation. As Drake once said, “as long as the outcome is income,” or as long as the intentions and results of a circumstance are positive.

The key is to strike a balance between accepting advice from others and following your instincts or natural inclinations.
