Individual Wellness

When it comes to taking care of others, a lot of the time the best thing you can do is take care of yourself and make sure you’re good.

It’s like in sports, every player has an assignment. If you do your assignment to the best of your ability, the team will be better off. If you don’t do your assignment and try to help another player do theirs, you might actually hurt the team.

When you take care of yourself and you’re good mentally, spiritually, physically, financially, etc., you’ll be available to help others in their time of need, or at the least you’ll be one less person that everyone has to worry about.

Trusting Instincts

Always trust your instincts. If something feels off, there’s likely a valid reason behind it.

Avoid rushing into things. Often, we become so fixated on what we desire that we ignore warning signs. At such times, our morals and values should guide us. Upholding good morals and values can help us avoid many problems.

When we desperately want something, including someone, we may compromise our principles or find ourselves in avoidable situations. Remember that what is meant for you will come naturally. Problems arise when we try to force things.

Action Defines Your True Self

Every action you take reflects who you are. While you may not have control over every situation you find yourself in, you do have control over your own actions and the effort you put forth.

Just because you dislike your job doesn’t mean you should underperform every day. This speaks more about your character than the job itself. Even if you are not fond of the team you are on, it is important to still give your best effort. It all comes down to your mindset.

A truly good employee will always be a good employee, regardless of the job. Similarly, a skilled player will always be skilled, regardless of the team they are on. Ultimately, it is a battle against yourself. Strive to give your best in every relationship and circumstance because, at the end of the day, your actions are a reflection of who you are.
