It has been rainy the past couple days in SoCal. Yesterday I was making a left turn after exiting the highway, and a guy in a pickup truck to the right of me lost control of his truck and spun out into other lanes, ending with his truck facing the wrong direction on the road.
Luckily no other cars were close enough to get hit, and luckily I was able to see the situation and slow down. It was crazy cause I wasn’t sure if he lost control because of the rain, or if he was intentionally trying to drive erratic and hurt others. I wasn’t trying to find out though LOL. I kept driving and looked at the guy in my rear view mirror to make sure he was ok. He eventually turned his truck back around and was ok to proceed driving.
This made me think about how much we trust each other on a daily basis. Every time you get on the road, you are trusting others to follow the traffic laws and drive appropriately. Driving is dangerous. You are putting a lot of trust in millions of people that you do not know. The same goes for anytime you are in public.
We have to trust others to follow the laws, to make good choices, to be good people. We can’t control them though. That’s understandable. There will be times when people don’t follow the laws, and accidents and tragedies will happen. But if you’ve ever seen a car accident, you know that eventually that road will be clear, and things will be back to normal. That’s life.
You might put your trust in someone and they end up doing something that breaks that trust, and it may hurt you. Life goes on though. Can’t dwell on it for too long, and you can’t have trust issues moving forward. You will only hinder yourself. If you know someone who gets anxiety or something while driving, you’ll see that really they are just causing a problem for themselves. You should be a defensive driver, but you still have to trust others in order to drive peacefully. You should be defensive in life, but you still need to truth others for things to function correctly. You have to trust God most importantly. When you don’t, you’ll just hurt yourself.
Rather it’s driving or life, the best way to trust others and make sure no “accidents” happen is to do things correctly yourself. If everyone starts with themselves, the world ( or the road) will be a better place. Be a good driver. Be a good person. This will keep the road and the world safe and functional.
Follow the traffic laws in order to get to your destination safely. Follow the laws of success and the teachings of God in life, and you’ll get to your life destination safely also. If you do not, accidents will happen, and you might not get to your destination. It’s possible though. I trust you.
