Mastering Your Mind

Thoughts become things. Our thoughts have the power to manifest into reality. That’s good when it comes to positive thinking and goal achievement.

Sometimes our thoughts can be our biggest downfall. There are thoughts we shouldn’t think anymore, things such as past trauma or past mistakes. Those things have happened in the past, but as long as we still dwell on them, we give them power to control us in the present or future.

Just like in sports, you’re supposed to have a short memory in order to continue to perform to the best of your ability; the same goes for real life.

It’s key to deal with a situation and then not think about it ever again. I know it’s easier said than done, but it’s possible nonetheless.

Generosity and Giving

Today, I donated a lot of my clothes to The Salvation Army, and it felt good for several reasons.

First, it was beneficial to clean out my closet and get rid of clothes that I’ve been holding onto for too long. It’s important to let go and create space for new things to come.

Also, I genuinely enjoy giving back in any way I can. I could have taken my clothes to one of those stores that buy and sell gently used name brand clothes, but not everything is about gaining money. I prefer to give and expect nothing in return.

Learning Beyond Boundaries

Nowadays, it feels like learning and mastering things has become easier due to platforms like YouTube.

YouTube, the second largest search engine after Google, has been a valuable resource for me. I have gained knowledge in various areas such as learning Spanish, improving my basketball shooting skills, understanding diets and workouts, finding solutions to car problems, and even enhancing my cooking abilities.

The access to these informative videos makes life seem more manageable and achievable. However, it is important to acknowledge that even before the existence of YouTube, there were other valuable resources available.

The key lies in our willingness to put in effort and seek out these resources. YouTube is simply a tool that can be used in many different ways. Personally, I choose to utilize it for learning and personal growth.

The desire, effort, and consistency we put into our pursuits are what truly matters. Whatever we aspire to do or learn in life, guidance and knowledge are within reach. They may be found on YouTube, in books, through mentors, or even through spiritual sources.

The important thing is to recognize that these resources are readily available and more accessible than we may think. I encourage you to explore and experience this for yourself.

Self-Sufficiency: The Secret to Success

Having an assistant can definitely make life easier. It can help with time management, organization, productivity, and many other things.

However, having an assistant requires being established, productive, and having financial resources. Therefore, it may not be an option for everyone.

The good news is that personal assistants can be replaced by practicing good time management, organization, and productivity. These practices can bring relief and structure to our lives, just like having an assistant would.

We have to assist ourselves to the fullest before anyone else does. If our lives are a little out of whack right now, or not quite as organized as we’d like, we should think about how having an assistant would help, and do all of the things an assistant would do.

It’s important to remember that true personal growth and success comes from the ability to be self-sufficient. While having an assistant can be helpful, it is important to first establish a foundation of productivity and organization within ourselves. By taking responsibility for our own lives and being proactive in our approach to success, we can achieve the same benefits as having an assistant and more.

Staggered Blessings

Sometimes, blessings and opportunities are not always consistent with your faith and hard work. There may be times when you feel like nothing is happening, while at other times, the blessings are flowing in.

This is where having faith comes into play. You must believe that good things will come, even if it is not at the time you expect them. The key to receiving blessings is by making the right choices, and having faith and works.

No matter what you are pursuing, keep going and don’t give up. You never know when you will be rewarded, but you will eventually. It’s all about persistence and perseverance in achieving your goals.

Your Unique Journey

Comparison can be a dangerous game. It’s easy to look at someone else’s life and feel like you’re not measuring up. But the truth is, everyone’s journey is different. You can’t compare your own path to someone else’s because they haven’t faced the same challenges or experienced the same successes as you.

As they say, “comparison is the thief of joy.” When you constantly compare yourself to others, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment and feelings of inadequacy. Instead of focusing on what you lack, it’s important to compare yourself to your past self.

If you’re not happy with where you stand in life, that’s okay. Use it as motivation to make progress. It’s crucial to recognize that progress looks different for everyone. Someone else’s achievements don’t invalidate your own accomplishments.

Don’t forget that the only thing you have control over is your own journey. You can’t control how quickly others progress, but you can control your own progress. Life isn’t a race, and there’s no prize for reaching the finish line first.

It’s easy to get caught up in the comparison game, but it’s important to remember that you’re on your own unique journey. Comparing yourself to others will only lead to feelings of inadequacy and disappointment. Instead, celebrate your progress and focus on your own personal growth.

The Power of Repetition

I’ve written a blog post every day for over 100 days. Now it’s to the point where I can do it daily, without much thought. Some days I forget what I even wrote. It’s as if I’ve trained myself to tap into this state of mind that allows me to think and write, without even realizing that I am doing it.

When we do something repeatedly, our brains allow us to perform that task more efficiently and effectively over time. It can be a good thing when we are doing something productive or positive, like writing a blog or exercising regularly. I’ve realized that it can also be a bad thing when we are engaging in negative behaviors that become automatic and difficult to change.

Me realizing that I can write a blog everyday automatically, made me think of the negative things that I do automatically. I’m sure there’s a lot of things that I don’t even notice. Im gonna make it an effort to try to find those negative habits and change them into something more positive and productive.

It’s important to be aware of our habits and behaviors, both positive and negative, and work to consciously shape them in a way that supports our goals and values.

The Importance of Every Relationship

Every person we encounter and every relationship we have in our lives shapes us in some way, whether it’s a positive or negative experience. These experiences contribute to our growth and development as individuals, and ultimately shape our character.

Each relationship, no matter how long or short, serves a purpose in our journey towards becoming the person we are meant to be.

We may not be friends, associates, lovers, teammates, or enemies anymore, but I appreciate the times when we were. You helped me become who I am, rather good, or bad.

Embrace and appreciate every interaction you have with someone. Embrace both good and bad experiences. Use them all to become the best version of yourself.

Don’t Wait to Change

Don’t wait to change for the better. You don’t know how long you have to change. It’s important to prioritize our personal growth and make positive changes to our lives, not just for ourselves but for the people around us who could benefit from our progress (they are most likely the ones that are hurting from our lack of progression also).

We never know how much time we have, so it is important to act with urgency and make the most of the time we do have. Let others see the change. Let them see that it’s possible. Let yourself see that it’s possible also. The time is now.

Embrace the Pain

There was a time when whenever I had any aches or pains in my body, I would go take some ibuprofen. I’m hesitant to do that now because I know that’s not the only solution, and it’s not good for your body to take a lot of ibuprofen. One time I dislocated my thumb during a football game in college and the doctor gave me an injection to make it numb. I was back in the game like nothing happened. My thumb was wrapped up, but it was still in a precarious position, so once that numbing wore off, I was in even more pain. I caused even more damaged by continuing to play as if nothing was wrong with my thumb. I would have played differently and protected my thumb differently if I could’ve felt the pain.

Sometimes it’s good to embrace the pain. Pain can often be a signal that something is not right, and it can help us to identify and address the underlying issue. In medicine, pain can be an important indicator of a patient’s condition, and it can help doctors to diagnose and treat the problem. In real life, pain can also help us to learn from our mistakes, make adjustments, and develop resilience. While pain can be difficult to endure, it can ultimately lead to personal growth and a better understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

We can’t always resort to drugs to get over the pain. Whether it’s over-the-counter drugs, prescription, or street drugs. Maybe you don’t use drugs to get over the pain and have some other type of vice, like food, sex, alcohol, anything. Those things may feel helpful in the moment, but when that numbness wears off, you might have done even more damage, and be in even more pain, like how my thumb was.

Embrace the pain. Feel it. Learn from it. Adjust, and grow.
