Habit-Goal Alignment

Do your goals and desires align with your habits?

Often, we aspire to achieve certain things, but lack the necessary habits for success. When evaluating progress towards a goal or a new lifestyle, it is crucial to honestly assess our habits and ensure they are in line with our desired destination.

This self-reflection is essential for making meaningful changes. While some good habits may exist, lacking others can prolong and complicate the journey.

For example, if the goal is to lose 20lbs and gain strength, regularly exercising alone is insufficient without the habit of eating healthily every day.

To reach your goals, it is important to set targets and gradually build the necessary habits, one step at a time.

The Power of Repetition

I’ve written a blog post every day for over 100 days. Now it’s to the point where I can do it daily, without much thought. Some days I forget what I even wrote. It’s as if I’ve trained myself to tap into this state of mind that allows me to think and write, without even realizing that I am doing it.

When we do something repeatedly, our brains allow us to perform that task more efficiently and effectively over time. It can be a good thing when we are doing something productive or positive, like writing a blog or exercising regularly. I’ve realized that it can also be a bad thing when we are engaging in negative behaviors that become automatic and difficult to change.

Me realizing that I can write a blog everyday automatically, made me think of the negative things that I do automatically. I’m sure there’s a lot of things that I don’t even notice. Im gonna make it an effort to try to find those negative habits and change them into something more positive and productive.

It’s important to be aware of our habits and behaviors, both positive and negative, and work to consciously shape them in a way that supports our goals and values.

Consistency for 100 Days

Today marks the 100th consecutive day that I have written and posted a blog. It seems like day one was just yesterday. Time flies when you’re having fun.

Posting consistently for 100 days has taught me a lot of things about myself. It has shown me that I can be consistent whenever I choose to be. It shows that I am disciplined and can stick to a routine or habit for a long period of time. It shows that I am goal-oriented. I set a goal to post every day, and that’s exactly what I am doing. It shows that I am responsible. I am responsible for my actions, and I hold myself accountable. It shows that I am determined. No matter how my day goes, I know I have enough perseverance to write a blog post.

This 100-day streak shows me a lot of positive qualities about myself. I will use these qualities in other areas of my life as well to help me achieve success. I encourage you to commit to do something every day. You’ll learn about your character and habits, and ultimately become a better person. 100 days down. Many more to go.
