Motivated by desire

Everything that we do, consciously or unconsciously, is motivated by our desires. Our desires can be both positive and negative.

I think to achieve our goals and aspirations, we need to understand and harness the power of our desires, and use them to fuel our actions and decisions. If you’re unmotivated or uncertain what you’d like to do with your life, it’s a good idea to look within and find what you really desire. It could be things such as success, happiness, and love. It could also be an activity or cause that you were always passionate about but never really pursued.

We can all desire something positive in life, and we can all use that desire as motivation. Desires are personal and subjective, so only you can decide what you really desire in life. This can be invigorating. It makes you feel free. There’s no better feeling than freely desiring something, then going out and pursuing and achieving it.

The Power of Repetition

I’ve written a blog post every day for over 100 days. Now it’s to the point where I can do it daily, without much thought. Some days I forget what I even wrote. It’s as if I’ve trained myself to tap into this state of mind that allows me to think and write, without even realizing that I am doing it.

When we do something repeatedly, our brains allow us to perform that task more efficiently and effectively over time. It can be a good thing when we are doing something productive or positive, like writing a blog or exercising regularly. I’ve realized that it can also be a bad thing when we are engaging in negative behaviors that become automatic and difficult to change.

Me realizing that I can write a blog everyday automatically, made me think of the negative things that I do automatically. I’m sure there’s a lot of things that I don’t even notice. Im gonna make it an effort to try to find those negative habits and change them into something more positive and productive.

It’s important to be aware of our habits and behaviors, both positive and negative, and work to consciously shape them in a way that supports our goals and values.

Small Fixes For Big Wins

“I try to look after the little ills, with the idea that if I take care of the little ills the big ones will not come.” – Booker T. Washington

We should all take care of the little ills, in effort to decrease the odds of a big ill coming. This could be health related, meaning you take care of the small runny nose before it turns into a full sickness, or you exercise and eat healthy and keep your cholesterol and blood pressure down before it leads to much bigger health complications.

The “little ills” don’t always have to be health related. It’s just any small problem that could lead to something bigger and worse. That could be things such as bad habits or bad relationships or even bad decisions. Anything that could that get in the way of your goals and well being.

Address all small problems early on. Identify and treat all underlying issues before they become more significant. Take care of those little ills so the big ones will not come.

What Does A Good Day Look Like For You?

Make makes a day a good day for you? Is it doing everything on your “to do” list? Is it eating healthy? Spending time with loved ones? Making money?

It might not be possible to have a good day every single day, but I think it’s possible to have a good day majority of the time. It’s about finding at least one thing that could contribute to you having a good day, and doing that one thing. Your day could have started bad, but you can end it on a good note.

Try to cultivate a positive outlook and create habits that increase the likelihood of having more good days than bad. And just in case nobody told you today: have a great day!

When Your “Why” Isn’t Enough

People always talk about having a “why” and using that as your purpose or reason for doing something. If you have a clear understanding of why you’re doing something, you’ll be more motivated and focused. That’s very true, but what do you do in the moments that your “why” isn’t enough to get you going?

I think it’s key go understand that your “why” won’t always be enough to motivate you. Once you realize that, you won’t feel so bad when the moment comes when that “why” isn’t enough. It’s nothing personal against your “why”, it could just be one of those days.

You can try to look at things from a different perspective. Sometimes a change of perspective can provide new motivation. You can also find a good support system that can be there for you when your “why” isn’t quite motivating you.

You can also break that goal or task down to make it more reasonable and achievable. Your “why” might not be enough to get you to want to go to work, or workout or something, but maybe you can start with a small goal of just making it to your car. Once you do that, you can move on to the next task, such as driving to the gym.

It’s good to take breaks in general when even our “why” isn’t enough to motivate us. Maybe you’re just burnt out. Sometimes taking a break can help you come back with more energy and a new look at your purpose.

Overall, it’s ok to have those days when your “why” isn’t enough to motivate you. Talk to God and ask for the energy and guidance. Create other systems and habits to help you get through those moments, and know that that feeling doesn’t stay forever. Keep going.

No Limit

I spend a lot of years focusing on Football, and it brought me a lot of knowledge in that field and a lot of opportunities. I know that I can put that same energy into something else and get similar results. I could think that there’s nothing else that I can learn or do in life, but I know that’s not true.

There is no limit to what one can learn and achieve in life, as we are constantly growing and evolving. With hard work, dedication, and a willingness to learn, one can achieve great things and reach their full potential. Don’t limit yourself to just one way of life, or one interest. Dream as big as you can and do it all.

If It’s Going to Be, It’s Up to Me

Anything that I want in life (and beyond for that matter) is up to me. I can be blessed with all the gifts, presented with all the opportunities, have the right mentors and supports in my life, but at the end of the day it’s all up to me.

You can look at that as discouraging or encouraging. I look at it as encouraging. I like having the personal choice to achieve anything I want in life. I also understand that anything I don’t achieve is a result of me not doing what was needed.

No matter where you are in life right now, you chose to be there. You can choose to stay there if you life it, or you can choose to be somewhere else in life. God blessed us with free will. Use it to your advantage. It’s all up to you.

The Importance of Every Relationship

Every person we encounter and every relationship we have in our lives shapes us in some way, whether it’s a positive or negative experience. These experiences contribute to our growth and development as individuals, and ultimately shape our character.

Each relationship, no matter how long or short, serves a purpose in our journey towards becoming the person we are meant to be.

We may not be friends, associates, lovers, teammates, or enemies anymore, but I appreciate the times when we were. You helped me become who I am, rather good, or bad.

Embrace and appreciate every interaction you have with someone. Embrace both good and bad experiences. Use them all to become the best version of yourself.

Stop growing

“Stop growing” is good to hear when you’re a kid or when it comes from someone older who has known you since a young age. It’s how I already feel about my newborn baby. It’s used to express admiration for a younger person’s achievements and progress. It’s beautiful to see, but you also miss them being so young and small. You also realize you’re getting old yourself LOL.

“Stop growing” could be bad once you are an adult. It can be seen as controlling or manipulative. This person may feel threatened by your personal growth and development because they fear that it will change the dynamics of your relationship or their own sense of security.

So, stop growing, but don’t stop growing.

Not Every Kernel Pops

Every kernel in the popcorn bag has potential to pop. Majority of the time, not every single one pops. It takes the right amount of water inside of that kernel as well as the right amount of heat evenly distributed in order for that kernel to pop.

We are all kernels. We all have potential to “pop” or reach our goals, but not everyone will be successful. It’s important to keep trying and striving towards our goals, even if we experience setbacks or failures along the way.

Make sure you have the right ingredients inside of you to pop. Know that it takes a little heat & pressure to pop also. Not every kernel pops, but that doesn’t mean you can’t. Unlike the kernel in the popcorn bag, the choice is yours.
