Defying Alarms: Life’s Triumph

I woke up today, on a Saturday, before 6 am, without an alarm clock.

I never thought I’d be able to do that, nor did I think I’d ever want to. But here I am.

There was a time when the average time I woke up in the morning was after 10 am. It’s crazy how your whole life can change based on your habits and decisions.

Embracing Multiple Goals

It’s great to have a desire to pursue multiple things in life. You shouldn’t confine yourself to just one big dream or goal. There are numerous achievements you can strive for.

However, it’s important not to become too preoccupied with other potential possibilities and overlook the ones right in front of you. Often, we have significant blessings within our grasp, but we choose to focus on the wrong things.

Your time and energy are scarce resources, so ensure that they are consistently directed towards the next right move and the next achievable goal.

Instead of running down and settling for one bear, walk down and get them all. Don’t sacrifice numerous small and attainable goals in pursuit of a single grand dream. Believe in yourself, thoroughly assess your current situation, and seize opportunities as they arise.

Faithful Triumphs

They say that your faith is manifested by the tests it encounters. I have faith in God and myself because, time and time again, He has been there for me. I’ve gotten through every hard time, and I’ve accomplished everything I’ve ever wanted to.

Think about all the tests you’ve encountered in life and all that you’ve overcome. Use that as a testament that you can get through anything, and God is on your side.

Show your faith when you encounter your next test. There’s no better feeling than encountering a test, having faith and works, and then getting through that situation.

Embrace the test, have faith, and conquer.

Initiate, Progress, Succeed

No matter how big the dream or goal, it starts with step one. That first step is just as important, if not more important, than the final destination.

There are many things we may want to do, and most of them are actually achievable. The thing is, a lot of the time, we fail to achieve things or take longer than necessary because we didn’t take that first step in the right direction.

It’s our own actions or lack thereof that determine if we’ll reach a goal. It’s not about reaching your destination immediately; it’s about heading towards your destination in general.

Go to the gym, wake up early, read that book, learn that topic—whatever step one is that leads you to your goals, do it. And once you have mastered step one, move on to step two. Slow and steady wins the race. Just make sure you’re at the starting line when the race is about to begin.

Action for Progress

Don’t mistake action for progression.

It’s easy to stay busy and active, but what you need to ensure is that your actions are consistent with your goals and desires.

If there’s ever a time when you feel like you’ve been doing a lot but haven’t noticed any progress, you should reassess your actions. Sometimes we even purposefully trick ourselves into thinking that we are doing what we need to do by engaging in a bunch of pointless stuff.

The same goes for observing others. Don’t mistake others’ actions for progression; things aren’t always what they seem from the outside looking in.

Action is great, just make sure it’s efficient action that truly propels you towards your goals.

Energize Your Mindset

When you make up your mind, the boost will follow.

I have noticed that I have more energy throughout my day when I approach it with the right mindset. On the days when I tell myself, ‘I’m getting old,’ my body starts to feel the same way. However, on the days when I affirm that I still feel youthful and full of energy, my body responds accordingly.

Our bodies react to how we perceive and treat them. Therefore, it is important to cultivate positive thoughts and engage in healthy habits. If you ever feel confused about your current state, take a moment to assess your attitude and also observe your body. They will provide insights and guide you towards the truth.

Mastering Daily Resilience

It’s crazy how often we let one negative thing or moment ruin our entire day.

It can be something as simple as an email you received, a text message, road rage, someone’s attitude, or even your own attitude.

Having patience is a virtue, whether it’s following your dreams or dealing with everyday problems.

The next time a small problem or situation arises and tries to ruin your day, don’t let it. Remember that it’s just temporary and that, too, shall pass. Make an effort to have a great day today and also a fantastic week ahead. It’s possible.

Parenting and Growth

Part of being a good parent is making sure that you are taking care of yourself.

Kids learn from the experiences that happen to them and how they are treated, but they also learn a lot about how their parents treat themselves and what personal actions parents take.

Growing up, my mom would also watch those home workout VHS tapes. I used to love watching her do the workouts with Billy Blanks, and I would often join in with her. This instilled in me the importance of exercise as well as the desire to be a better version of myself. The same goes for learning and education. I spent many hours in the library with my mom when I was a kid. My mom often took college courses and had to study, so I would go to the library with her. I learned the importance of education, and I also learned that it’s never too late to achieve something, nor do you have to stop learning once you reach a certain age.

Now, I have a baby, and I know that there are a lot of things I can and will teach her and influence her. One of the biggest and best things I can do is continue to work on my personal development and continue to learn. That will help myself, my baby, and others. You should do the same.

Learning: Persist, Succeed!

I feel like we’ve all had something we’ve tried to learn that was a challenge. Perhaps there was a math subject that you felt you could never learn or a sport that you felt you could never get good at. Maybe you had a dream that seemed too big to achieve.

The thing is, just because things are that way in that moment doesn’t mean they will be that way forever. There are things that I once had a hard time learning and processing that now come to me with ease. Sometimes it’s just not your time. You could be going through something in life, or your brain may not be ready for whatever it is you’re trying to learn at that moment.

Sometimes time just has to pass. So if you feel like you can’t learn something now, just know that it’s a matter of time. Don’t quit. Keep going.

Transferring Lessons: Unlocking Potential

Starting something new doesn’t always mean starting from zero. You might already know some things in the field.

A lot of what we learn is transferable to other fields. There are many things that I learned just from playing sports that I still use in many ways, whether it’s teamwork, communication, hard work, accountability, or anything else.

We’ve all spent years of our lives learning, and we’ve also spent years of our lives experiencing. Don’t let all those lessons and experiences go to waste, even the bad ones. Find ways to use them in your next endeavor. Continue to learn, grow, and apply them as often as possible.
