Time Management Insights

I like daylight saving time because it demonstrates the significant impact of adding or subtracting an hour from your day.

Simply waking up an hour earlier than usual can provide us with more time to accomplish all the tasks we desire throughout the day. Conversely, waking up an hour later can reveal the activities we may not have time for that day.

Many of our problems and solutions ultimately boil down to time management. When striving to achieve more or gain a better handle on your daily life, begin by addressing your sleep routine and the times at which you go to bed and wake up.

Remember, effective time management can be the key to unlocking greater productivity and satisfaction in your life.

Empowering Education

I believe that there should be more self-esteem and empowerment classes in schools. Schools teach us things that will benefit us in the real world, but they often fail to provide the confidence and mindset needed to achieve our goals.

Some individuals can graduate from college and still lack the courage to pursue their desires, even though they possess the tools to be successful.

Therefore, while learning or teaching, it’s essential not to overlook the aspects of self-esteem, self-worth, and self-empowerment, as these are equally crucial throughout our lives.

Attitude Matters Most

It’s incredible how something as small as an attitude shift can make a big difference in your life.

The same exact day for me can be seen as a bad day or a good day, depending on how my attitude was throughout that day. When I go workout, my workout is either productive or a waste of time, depending on my attitude when I enter the gym.

I know life is unpredictable, but if we keep the right attitude no matter the situation, I know it’s possible to get over any obstacle and just enjoy life in general.

When you’re in a bad mood or having a bad day, check your attitude first.

Mastering Your Mindset

A lot of times, our past haunts us because we give it the power to. Something that could have been left in the past often lingers in the present.

We have more control than we think of what we allow to affect us in life.

Just as one could let negative thoughts, feelings, and experiences of the past affect their present, they could also let positive thoughts and feelings towards the future positively affect their present.

It’s a mindset thing.

Helping Others Brings Fulfillment

I find the most happiness and success from helping others.

It’s something we all must do in some way. It may seem one-sided at times, but whenever I help someone, they also help me in return, even if they don’t realize it.

Helping others can bring a sense of fulfillment by making a positive impact on their lives, fostering connections, and contributing to a greater good, leading to personal satisfaction and a sense of purpose.

So in the words of Maxwell, make sure you “help somebody.”

Diverse Paths to Success

The cool thing about playing sports in college and even professionally is seeing how everyone got there.

Everyone ended up at the same destination, but we all had different upbringings, backgrounds, and journeys. It shows that it doesn’t always matter how or where you start. It’s still about making the right choices based on your situation.

You may start in a more unfortunate situation than others, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still reach the same heights as others. Conversely, there are people who may start off in a better predicament than others, but they make the wrong choices and squander their opportunities.

The starting point is simply just the starting point. It’s about moving forward no matter what, with your goals in mind with every action.

Creating Future Through Choices

They say hindsight is 20/20. It is easier to understand or judge a situation after it has happened than when you are in the moment.

Luckily, humans are really good at planning for the future in ways that animals usually aren’t. So, we can look into the future before we even partake in an action, with a hindsight approach.

We should look at all the possible outcomes from an action before we do them. This can save us from a lot of stress and from a lot of bad decisions.

Growing up, those WWJD wristbands were very popular. They looked cool to wear, but most importantly, they were a constant reminder to keep making the right decisions.

It’s key to create some kind of method or habit to assess the effects of your actions rather than always having hindsight. You can create a better future for yourself simply by making the right choices in the present.

Living with Purpose

Finding your purpose and doing what you love can sometimes be a matter of life and death.

Most of the older people that I know are still very active. I know guys who are still working well into their 70s and are still full of life. It’s often that occupation or passion for something that keeps us alive.

When I was in the NFL, I had a coach who was very old. He really didn’t do much, but he still attends every meeting and practice. My veteran teammates would tell me that some older guys like him, who have been coaching their entire lives, need to continue to do so. It’s often when they stop coaching that they die.

I think we all have something in life that we can do that gives us life. Likewise, there are things that when we stop doing them, we may lose our life.

It’s about finding your purpose and your passion and literally doing it as long as you can, or as long as you enjoy it. If you have yet to find a passion or your purpose, you may have yet to live.

Empowering Self-Esteem

I recently met an older man who owns a few businesses. He said that when hiring employees, a must-have is self-esteem. He said he asks certain questions to find out about their self-esteem, and it’s a deal-breaker if they do not have it.

I understand what he means because self-esteem is a must-have for anything that we do in life. Sometimes it’s not our actual skills and abilities that hold us back, but our self-esteem.

We often underestimate what we can actually do. We also often give up or lose confidence and hope when things are hard or when there are uncertainties.

No matter what you do in life, there will be a lot of obstacles or just moments where self-esteem will be one of the only things to get you over that hump. You’ll always have doubters or others that think negatively about you. Just make sure you aren’t one of them.

One extra day to get more things done in February. Also, one extra day to relax before rent is due, lol.

Happy birthday to those who hardly ever get to celebrate their calendar birthday; live it up until your next birthday in four years.
