Courage Through Time

One of my earliest and fondest memories is from when I was about 3 or 4 years old, having to get shots during a doctor’s visit.

The doctor was impressed that I sat by myself for the shot without crying. This moment has stayed with me because it revealed my bravery and ability to independently face challenges. It was my first memory of a doctor’s visit, and I’ve never cried after a shot since then.

Interestingly, I had many doctor’s visits before this particular one, all of which I don’t recall. I’m certain I must have cried during shots as a baby, as most babies do. This suggests that it took numerous doctor’s visits, shots, and tears before I found the courage to handle things on my own, and before I understood that shots weren’t as dreadful as they seemed.

So, whatever you fear or whatever problem troubles you now, remember that with time and consistency, you can overcome it. Through practice, you can improve and grow. Things that scare you today may not do so in the future.

365 Days of Love

365 days ago, my daughter was born. It has been the best 365 days ever!

It’s amazing to watch someone grow and develop daily. It’s amazing to have that love that only your child can bring out of you. It’s amazing just being a father to a wonderful daughter.

365 days go by very fast when you’re excited for what each new day brings for your daughter. My daughter showed me how much one can learn, play, grow, and live in just one year. In the last 365 days, I’ve probably given my daughter 36,500 hugs and kisses.

There’s no better feeling than feeling like a protector and provider. That’s how I feel when my daughter lies on my chest with not a worry in the world.

Happy birthday to my beautiful daughter, Navy Sola-Rae.

Doorway Kindness

One of the simplest things that makes me happy every day is holding the door for a stranger or having a stranger hold the door for me.

That small interaction of a door hold and a “thank you” exchange with a stranger warms my heart. We should always look out for each other. We should help strangers without expecting anything in return.

Something as simple as holding the door for someone is a reminder that we are all in this together. Let’s spread kindness in our daily interactions.

Journey of Discovery

I often learn new things that I wish I would have learned years ago. Not that I have regrets and wish to make up for them with the things I recently learned, but rather the new information I’ve learned was already out there years ago and would have benefited me years prior also, if I had discovered it then.

It makes me think, maybe sometimes we aren’t ready for whatever it is we’re going to learn, that’s why we learn it later in life. Maybe we must experience other things as prerequisites before stumbling upon the new lessons. Maybe we couldn’t have learned previously because we were busy learning something else.

Either way, it’s all good. As long as you eventually did discover and learn the new idea or lesson. The exciting thing is, a lot of the time we don’t know what we will learn in our life or what we will come across. You just have to take the first initiative to go on that journey of exploring and learning new things, then let the rest unfold naturally.

Embrace the journey of exploring and learning, for it leads to unforeseen discoveries and growth.

Easter Joy Daily

The thing I like about Easter, and many other holidays, is the mood and spirit that they bring out in people. Granted, there are religious reasons for the holiday, and that’s a significant part of why everyone is in a good mood.

I’ve noticed that my interactions with others are much more positive, especially on days like Easter. The unique thing about Easter is that it can fall on a different Sunday every year. Sometimes it’s in March, sometimes it’s in April. My daughter has already experienced two Easters in her life, and she isn’t even one year old yet, lol.

This shows that we can choose which days we want to be happy. We can choose which days we want to be kind to others. We can choose days that we want to celebrate and be happy. So why not choose every day?

Curiosity Unleashed

You never know what you will discover in life.

Turn over every stone, and discoveries will present themselves. Continue to learn and have an urge to grow.

There are new things you will discover and learn. You won’t know what it is until you actually do. The answers are out there for you; you just have to go on the journey to find them. Always stay curious and open-minded as you explore the world around you.

Faith, Motivation

Faith in Consistent Action

What you’re doing right now might not be fully appreciated by yourself and others until much later in time.

There are things I did over five years ago that I appreciate much more now. Much of that stems from faith. I have faith that all the benefits from my actions will eventually come to fruition. I just have to put the work in and be consistent.

Often, the problem is that we don’t put in the adequate amount of time and effort into something. Then, when time goes by and we look back, there’s nothing to see.

So, whatever it is you wish to be or do, start right now. Put the work in now, and the reward will come, either for you or others.

Unleashing Potential Through Focus

We often possess all the skills and abilities needed to achieve our goals. We can achieve more than we think with the right focus and dedication.

Sometimes, it’s not the skills or abilities that are the issue; what we truly need is to concentrate and give our undivided attention. This simple act can work wonders.

I can write a blog spontaneously, and with focused effort, I can create something even more in-depth. By dedicating myself and focusing intensely, I can write a book or a movie. The key lies in the level of focus and dedication we apply.

This principle applies to all my endeavors, guiding me on when to increase my focus or effort to truly accomplish something. If there’s a goal you’ve been wanting to achieve but haven’t yet, dedicate your time and focus on the task, and observe the results.

Prepare, Act, Succeed

“Forewarned is forearmed.” Being informed in advance helps you be prepared for any situation.

The sad thing is, many times we are forewarned about preventable situations but still take no action until the problem occurs. This is something I’ve been working on myself.

It’s easier to be forewarned and forearmed about the big things in our lives, but it’s the big and small situations for which we must be prepared. Many small things we overlook until they become significant, and at that point, it’s too late.

It’s crucial to pay attention to both the big picture and the small details to be truly prepared for whatever comes our way.

Adapt and Win: The Power of Flexibility in Success

A sports team creates a game plan before every game, filled with objectives and plans for certain situations throughout the game that will lead the team to victory. The opposing team does the same thing.

A lot of the time, each team knows what the opponent expects of them, so they change their game plan to catch the other team off guard. Most of the time, that’s what both teams end up doing.

Some of the most exciting games I’ve played in, my team had to abort the game plan and do whatever it took to win. Whenever the game plan isn’t working, the team shouldn’t panic. You just take what the other team gives you and find other ways to win.

The same approach should be applied to business plans, life plans, any plans. Things might not go exactly as planned. That doesn’t mean you still can’t win. The plan is just the initiator; it’s the catalyst to get things started the correct way. It prepares you for the battle but does not guarantee success.

You must be able to adapt. You must have unwavering faith. You must have faith in your skills and blessings that they can still lead you to victory no matter what. And of course, you must have a good team around you with the same goals that’s willing to do whatever it takes to reach that goal.
