Balance for Success
It takes a certain amount of energy and focus to effectively do your job every day. The same goes for students, who dedicate hours each day to school.
That same type of energy and focus should be applied to all parts of our lives, not just when we are clocked in or enrolled in class. The same respect you give your boss and your teachers, you should give yourself. The same time management that you have, you should have for all parts of your life. That same amount of focus and energy it takes to effectively do your task while at work or school, or whatever obligation you have, you should also give that to yourself.
That’s when your dreams will take off. That’s when blessings and opportunities will present themselves. Remember, applying consistent focus and energy across all aspects of your life can lead to great outcomes.

Adapt and Win: The Power of Flexibility in Success
A sports team creates a game plan before every game, filled with objectives and plans for certain situations throughout the game that will lead the team to victory. The opposing team does the same thing.
A lot of the time, each team knows what the opponent expects of them, so they change their game plan to catch the other team off guard. Most of the time, that’s what both teams end up doing.
Some of the most exciting games I’ve played in, my team had to abort the game plan and do whatever it took to win. Whenever the game plan isn’t working, the team shouldn’t panic. You just take what the other team gives you and find other ways to win.
The same approach should be applied to business plans, life plans, any plans. Things might not go exactly as planned. That doesn’t mean you still can’t win. The plan is just the initiator; it’s the catalyst to get things started the correct way. It prepares you for the battle but does not guarantee success.
You must be able to adapt. You must have unwavering faith. You must have faith in your skills and blessings that they can still lead you to victory no matter what. And of course, you must have a good team around you with the same goals that’s willing to do whatever it takes to reach that goal.

Embracing Raw Moments
Some of the best memories are the ones that are not captured. Those moments when there are no physical remains of the memory, no photos or videos; you were just in the moment at the time and absorbed all of the positive energy from the experience.
It can be something as simple as watching TV with a loved one or a big moment that you think may be worth capturing. It’s good to have memories to look back on, but vision and hearing are just one way to experience them.
It’s like what Maya Angelou said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” You may forget a specific happy moment in life, but if you took it all in and really appreciated the moment during the time, the feeling you got from that memory never leaves.

Commitment Leads to Success
When it comes to success or achieving whatever you want in life, many times, the deciding factor on whether you achieve the results you desire is commitment.
Often, we know exactly what it takes to achieve our goals, but we don’t fully commit to the process. Adversity or other obstacles along the way can deter us, or we may simply lack enough faith.
Especially when attempting something for the first time, there may be uncertainty about whether we can actually accomplish it. Once you do it once, it gives you more confidence for the next time.
So, whatever it is you want to do in life, whether it’s big or small, go for it, and fully commit to it. Success and fulfillment await you.

Love Yourself, Love Others
Loving others is self-love. When you truly know and love someone, seeing all their flaws – physically and emotionally – and still love them unconditionally.
If you can love someone else in this way, you can look at and love yourself the same way. Or if you don’t have someone to love in this manner right now, love yourself that way at this moment. Then, when the time comes to truly love someone else, you’ll be ready.

Pursue Without Excuses
There will always be a reason (or reasons) not to do something.
It’s something you should expect and something that shouldn’t stop you when you have a vision, goal, or purpose.
A lot of times our “reasons” are really just excuses as opposed to explanations. So don’t let a reason or excuse stop you from achieving what you want in life.

Babies can have a bad hair day and not care one bit about it.
We should all be more like babies.

Courageous Curiosity
Sometimes there’s only one way to find out—go try. How can we know the uncertain if we never approach it, never embrace it? The unknown is as scary or as appealing as you make it.

Thriving Through Challenges
Sometimes I like to take the stairs even when using the elevator is an option.
Sometimes I like to park far away from the grocery store and walk to the entrance, even when there are much closer parking spots available.
The easiest journey may not always be the most beneficial. There may be times when you have to “take the stairs” in life, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing.
You’ll still get to your destination, and you’ll probably learn more and experience more beneficial things along the way.
