Create a new past
There are a lot of things that we’ve done in the past that we might regret or wish we have done differently. There might be a lot of people that are still judging you from your past and not letting you evolve into something else.
Each day we are blessed with is a chance for use to create a new past. What you do today and every day going forward is more important than what you’ve done in the past. Change your actions now and you’ll be creating a new past.
Keep growing, keep evolving, and keep changing your past for the better. It’s possible.

It’s not you, it’s your gift
If LeBron James wasn’t great at basketball, he probably wouldn’t have 148 million followers on Instagram and have fans all over the world. If Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t great at soccer, he probably wouldn’t have 561 million followers on Instagram and have fans all over the world.
It’s our gifts that attract people. It’s our gifts that people follow. There’s nothing wrong with that though. You just have to remember that and keep things in perspective.
It’s good to have gifts, but we must use those gifts and influence for positive things. We have to be good leaders and followers of Christ. I’d never debate who the greatest basketball player of all time is, but I’ve always liked LeBron’s “Just a kid from Akron” mentality. I feel he is confident, but also humble. I think he uses his gift for positivity, and tries to be a leader, and that’s why God has blessed him with so many years of playing basketball at the highest level.
You don’t have to be a professional athlete for others to be attracted to your gift though. You could just have charisma, be funny, very intelligent..anything.
Understand that people are attracted to your gift, not you. Use your gifts to serve others and make the world a better place. Also, surround yourself by those who genuinely care about you as a person, cause they’ll be the ones that’s still there when your gift is gone.

What’s taking so long?
We all have these new things we want to do, goals we want to reach, ideas that we want to see come into fruition, lives we want to live, etc. So the question is: what’s taking so long??
When you think about it, 9 times out of 10, it’s you. There has be so many times I take forever to do something I set out to do, then once I complete that task, I look back and think “I been could have did that”. We have to realize that we have a lot of self-limiting beliefs. We also often have a lot of excuses.
The faster you act on those things that you want/need to do, the faster you’ll be happy and fulfilled. This will let you move on to something else to accomplish. I think we have so many blessings waiting for us in life, but we get too caught up on the first blessing that we can’t even reach the others.
I try not to talk too much or think too much anymore. I just have to do. Don’t keep telling everyone (and yourself) what you will do or want to do. Just show them (and yourself). Then, use that momentum and confidence to do even more. It’s possible.

Consistently consistent
Sometimes it’s hard to start a new action, habit, lifestyle, etc. Just starting is very good. After you start to do something, you have to be consistent to see results. Being consistent is only half of the battle. You have to be consistently consistent.
It’s easy to do something consistent for a short amount of time. You’ll see your greatest results when you can be consistent all the time. If I consistently exercise for a few months, that’s good. But if I then take a month or so off, all the hard work I put in will soon diminish and I’ll have to start all over. I might not have to start over to when I first began, but the momentum that I once had will be lost, and I won’t be where I would have been if I never took a break at all.
I like to play the long game in everything in life. I have faith in myself that I can be more consistent for a longer time than the competition. In college, our football team learned about The Law of The Price Tag. One thing I like about the Law of the price tag is that the price never decreases. You have to put the work in consistently, and more often than not, you have to increase your effort to continue to progress. That goes for anything in life.
Don’t just do something consistently for a short period of time, then take a break, then begin to be consistent again. Be consistent the entire time. That’s when you will see the best results. If not, you’ll be taking two steps forward and one step back, when you could just be taking all steps forward.

Win the week
There might be a few things that you wanted to accomplish last week that you did not. Maybe you didn’t workout as often as planned, or didn’t eat healthy enough, or had a lot of tasks to do that you didn’t complete. Maybe you didn’t have the attitude or energy that you wanted to have last week.
The good thing is that God blessed us with time. He also blessed us with new days, weeks, months, years, etc. This week is a clean slate to do all the things that you didn’t do last week. Don’t dwell on the past, move forward and win the week. I don’t know what a “win” is for you this week, but you do. Do all the things that you need to do this week, and don’t worry about last week. This will bring happiness and confidence that you can always improve.
I hope you have a blessed week. I hope you plan your week out, then go do everything that you planned to do. It’s possible. Win the week.

You’re closer to your dreams than you think
You could be one hit song away from being a superstar. You could be one touchdown away from the NFL. You could be one relationship away from your dream job.
A lot of times our big dreams seem far away and out of reach, but in reality they are much closer than we think. Every dream that I have achieved came much faster than I though it would. That doesn’t mean I just sat on my butt and did nothing. I had to put the work in and make the right choices. Most importantly I had to keep my faith in God.
We often want things in life, but do not fully or effectively pursue them. It’s important to try all ideas, invest in yourself as much as possible, meet new people, etc, because you don’t know what will be the tipping point to your success.
Most importantly, you have to believe that it’s possible. If I told you that it was guaranteed a million dollars at the end of a particular rainbow, you would do whatever you could to get to the end of that rainbow to get that money. That’s how I feel about our dreams. If you really believe you are that star athlete, or have a life changing idea, or a talented music artist, anything; your actions would be consistent to those beliefs and your faith would be unwavering.
The great thing about your dreams is that most likely someone has already achieved something similar. They are the blueprint. They can help make your dreams closer and more achievable. Study them and make similar moves. If my son wanted to go to the NFL, it would be much easier for him to make it than it was for me.
Pursue all those ideas, meet the right people, put the work in. Don’t give up. You are closer to your dreams than you think.

We trust you
It has been rainy the past couple days in SoCal. Yesterday I was making a left turn after exiting the highway, and a guy in a pickup truck to the right of me lost control of his truck and spun out into other lanes, ending with his truck facing the wrong direction on the road.
Luckily no other cars were close enough to get hit, and luckily I was able to see the situation and slow down. It was crazy cause I wasn’t sure if he lost control because of the rain, or if he was intentionally trying to drive erratic and hurt others. I wasn’t trying to find out though LOL. I kept driving and looked at the guy in my rear view mirror to make sure he was ok. He eventually turned his truck back around and was ok to proceed driving.
This made me think about how much we trust each other on a daily basis. Every time you get on the road, you are trusting others to follow the traffic laws and drive appropriately. Driving is dangerous. You are putting a lot of trust in millions of people that you do not know. The same goes for anytime you are in public.
We have to trust others to follow the laws, to make good choices, to be good people. We can’t control them though. That’s understandable. There will be times when people don’t follow the laws, and accidents and tragedies will happen. But if you’ve ever seen a car accident, you know that eventually that road will be clear, and things will be back to normal. That’s life.
You might put your trust in someone and they end up doing something that breaks that trust, and it may hurt you. Life goes on though. Can’t dwell on it for too long, and you can’t have trust issues moving forward. You will only hinder yourself. If you know someone who gets anxiety or something while driving, you’ll see that really they are just causing a problem for themselves. You should be a defensive driver, but you still have to trust others in order to drive peacefully. You should be defensive in life, but you still need to truth others for things to function correctly. You have to trust God most importantly. When you don’t, you’ll just hurt yourself.
Rather it’s driving or life, the best way to trust others and make sure no “accidents” happen is to do things correctly yourself. If everyone starts with themselves, the world ( or the road) will be a better place. Be a good driver. Be a good person. This will keep the road and the world safe and functional.
Follow the traffic laws in order to get to your destination safely. Follow the laws of success and the teachings of God in life, and you’ll get to your life destination safely also. If you do not, accidents will happen, and you might not get to your destination. It’s possible though. I trust you.

Don’t waste that idea
You never know what will come from your idea. You never know who your idea will impact. Your idea could be life changing for you and others.
A lot of times we have great ideas but do not follow through with them. I try to follow through with all of my ideas once they come into my head. I like the quote “if you can see it in your mind, you can hold it in your hand”. That is a very true statement. Bring those ideas to life.
This blog started out as an idea. Me producing a documentary film about my life was just an idea once upon a time. Me writing a book was just an idea at first. I am glad I followed through with those ideas because they have created opportunities for me and others that are unimaginable. It also showed me what’s possible. It’s hard for me to not pursue all of my ideas now because I know that it’s possible. I kind of feel obligated to do so now. Whenever an idea comes to mind, I gotta follow through.
You have an idea that the world needs. Rather it’s big or small, just get that idea into the world. Thank you in advance.

Do it because you can
We have dominion over everything in life. That’s how God made it for us. With that being said, we have to keep that dominion in all aspects of life, at all times.
There are times when the thought/feeling of “ I don’t feel like doing this” kicks in my head. It can be something as simple as not feeling like working out today. Whenever I have that thought or feeling, I force myself to go workout because I have the dominion over my life. I can’t let laziness have dominion over me and control what I can and can’t do.
There will be times you will not feel like doing something that you know you should do. You should do it because you can. It’s a reminder to yourself that you are in control, and a reminder of your blessings.
We all have our vices. Make sure you are in control of that vice, and that the vice isn’t in control of you. I know people who feel as if they can’t function a certain way unless they smoke weed, or drink alcohol or something else. They might not realize it, but they are giving something else control of their lives.
We all have gifts. There are things that you are capable of doing that others can’t. That’s why you should do it. I post a blog every day because I can and I’m willing. It’s that simple.
Doing things cause you can is valuable because it will teach you how to be consistent, and just give you the confidence that will help you achieve more than those who only do things when they feel like it.
