Game 7 Mindset

In sports, a Game 7 is the last chance for both teams to win and continue their season or get knocked out and go home.

Because it’s the final game that decides everything, players give their maximum effort and play harder than ever to try to win. When it’s all on the line, you have to rise to the occasion.

Put yourself in “Game 7” situations in your personal life. Take risks. Put yourself in do-or-die, win-or-go-home situations.

That’s often what you need to give maximum effort and not be complacent.

When you push yourself to the limit, you unlock your true potential.

Embrace the Dip

Sometimes the dip comes before the climb.

In life or any journey, you might experience a downturn or a challenging phase before reaching success or improvement. Setbacks can precede significant progress.

Don’t get discouraged when faced with a “dip.” Get excited. Rise to the occasion, knowing that success is coming.

Mastering Muscle Memory

Muscle memory is the ability of the body to perform a task automatically through repetition and practice.

I use it to master anything I want, from playing sports to instruments to academics. I just start slow and easy with a repetition that I can repeatedly do correctly. Once I can do it, I can do it faster with confidence or without thought.

We all use muscle memory; it’s really just about making sure you’re learning the correct things and doing them the correct way.

It’s possible to learn to do things incorrectly and have that as your muscle memory. In return, you don’t get the results you wanted. It’s about consistently doing the right things, not just physical activity, but all actions.

Understanding and applying muscle memory correctly can lead to mastery in any area of life. Go put your reps in.

Learning Unleashed

Once you figure out how you learn, you can learn just about anything.

You may have struggled with certain subjects in school, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you don’t know or can’t learn the subject.

Your learning style may have been different from how the teacher taught.

Sometimes we don’t exactly know how we learn most efficiently because we never take the time to assess ourselves.

Find out how you learn. Find which tools help you learn more efficiently. Then go and learn whatever you want to. The sky is the limit.

Maximize Potential

You don’t know your real strength until you test yourself.

In the gym, you never really know how strong you are until you “max out” or test your maximum strength and see the most you can lift in a single effort.

The same goes for anything in life. You must try new things. You must test your maximum strength in whatever it is that you do. It’s the only way to gauge how strong you are, and sometimes the only way to truly progress.

If whatever you do has gotten easy or less fulfilling, try something else. Do more. Max out.

Pushing your limits is the key to unlocking your full potential and discovering what you’re truly capable of achieving.

Balanced Vigilance

Whenever I take my dog out for a walk, she always manages to find something random on the ground and eats it.

This bothers me because I have no idea what it is she’s eating, and it can be toxic and hurt her for all I know. And it’s just nasty to do, lol.

There are times that I prevent it from happening, but there are a lot of times I can’t prevent it. I’ve grown to accept it and not put too much energy or emotion into it. We go about our walk, and nothing ever happens as a result of eating something off the ground.

Just like in life, finding balance between vigilance and acceptance allows us to navigate challenges while enjoying the journey.

Prioritize Joy

We never outgrow having fun. Some just choose not to have it as much as others.

There’s a good chance that there’s something you do daily that you really don’t enjoy, but maybe it’s a must. Doing things that you enjoy and that bring you happiness should be one of them.

Making time for joy and pleasure in our lives is essential for our well-being. Even small moments of fun can have a big impact on our mood and outlook.

Prioritize your happiness, and make sure to incorporate activities that bring you joy into your daily routine.

Deliberate Achievement

Whatever you set out to achieve requires deliberate actions. There’s a blueprint or paradigm for everything.

We can’t expect to get the results of following a particular blueprint if we didn’t actually follow it. If you look at the things you’ve already achieved in your life, you’ll see you took the right deliberate actions to get there. Not often do we just luck into things.

Conversely, if you look at the things you wanted to achieve but didn’t, there’s a good chance your actions didn’t properly align with the goal.

By ensuring our actions align with our goals, we increase the likelihood of success.

Balanced Actions

Whether in sports or real life, it is essential to be able to effectively act offensively and defensively.

Being good at only one will be counterproductive. A good offense is nothing if the defense is not good, and vice versa.

Many times in life, we encounter situations that seem more difficult than they are because we should be acting offensively but are acting more defensively, or vice versa.

Do not be afraid of challenges, confront them. Also, sometimes it is better to act a little more defensively with thought-out actions.

Embrace the balance of offense and defense in all aspects of life, and success will follow.

Live Your Way

Live your life.

Do what makes you happy.

Do things that you find purpose in.

Receive the guidance and advice of others, but ultimately do what you feel is best.

You can’t get caught up in what others think. They aren’t you, after all.

We all have one life to live, so live it to the fullest, the way you want.

Remember that in the end, it’s your life to live, so make the most of it.
